Murals
MISSIONARY
This residential mural titled “Missionary” was our first experience painting in a stairwell for a very Queer home in the Mission District. The mural depicts several bodies celebrating sexuallity and gender roles. The biggest challenge in this project was the narrow staircase and the limited space. The colors and imagery wrapped around the space create a unique experience entering the house. “Missionary” Acrylic Approx 240 sqft June 2021 Mission District. San Francisco CA
SF LGBT Center
For this mural we started with the Progress Pride Flag because to us it represents the amazing diversity within the Queer community. We wanted to showcase “heroes” from the past and present who we feel should be celebrated in the LGBTQ+ community as well as the intersection with our Latino Heritage. We hope that this mural invokes love and curiosity for our past, a connection to our present, and inspire a diverse future for the LGBTQ+ movement. SF LGBTC CENTER. “Queeroes” Acrylic. Approx 210 sqft May 2021. Collaboration with Simon Malvaez 1800 Market St. San Francisco, CA
MUNI Ramp
On February 2021, we painted this mural on a MUNI Ramp located at the intersection of Market and Church streets. We worked closely with Paint the Void and SF MUNI on this project that uses primary colors as branding for compadre Simon Malvaez and depicts many faces to talk about Diversity, Visibility and Inclusion. MUNI RAMP “Nosotres” Acrylic Approx 220 sqft February 2021 210 Church St, San Francisco CA
CactusES
This residential mural project titled "CactusEs" is located in Oakland CA and mimics a real cactus planted in the front of the house. This mural is situated on the backyard deck and adjacent to the kitchen. It's visible from within and besides complementing the existing design, it invites you to explore the indoor/outdoor space created by the deck. RESIDENTIAL “CactusES” Acrylic Approx 160 sqft January 2021 Oakland CA
El Rio
In 2020, I was asked to design a mural covering the facade of a three-story building that houses a Latino low-income housing project and a historic queer community bar. In collaboration with Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA), an organization working 40+ years to keep Latinos and working families in San Francisco’s Mission District, and El Rio -a fabulous 40+ year old queer neighborhood bar, I embarked on this massive mural challenge. This mural depicts the many faces, traditions and ethnic backgrounds within the Latino community in the US while it champions sexual and gender diversity. EL RIO “LatinX” Acrylic Approx 420...
