This mural was born from Queer bar owner Gillian Fitzgerald's vision—the Irish village of Dingle, set against the iconic backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Through her, I discovered the Irish pagan tradition of the “Wren Boys,” featured in Dingle Distillery logo, and the symbolism of St. Brigid’s crosses—woven into the mural as a tribute to our shared love for Ireland. All of it sparked by a book she lent me at the beginning of the project. Yeah, she’s seriously the best client!
It was an honor to paint alongside the incredible Tanya Wischerath, an artist I’ve admired for years. I learned about Tanya’s work with Juanita More's mural on 18th St. Juanita is also on this mural.
