Titled “Showtime”, this mural is a vibrant tribute to the spirit, history, and performers of San Francisco’s queer nightlife. Created through the combined visions of artists Serge Gay Jr., Elliott C. Nathan, J Manuel Carmona, Simón Malvaez, and Christopher McCutcheon, the piece celebrates the magic that happens inside OASIS—a beloved venue that has become an emblem of joy, expression, and community.
The mural incorporates symbols and tropes from queer nightlife, paying homage to legendary drag performers, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the late Heklina, and countless others who have graced the stage and shaped the cultural legacy of this space. More than just a decorative work, “Showtime” honors OASIS as a sanctuary—a place where art, resistance, laughter, and transformation come together under one fabulous spotlight.
