I drew inspiration from political propaganda from the 1940s and the intense political climate of the year 2017. We wanted to make a very political statement with this project. The mural portrays Juanita More! in an elegant pose that conveys strength-almost military depicting her as a leader and protector for the LGBTQI community. It is also a tribute to the creator of the rainbow flag, Gilbert Baker (R.I.P. 2017), and to all who fought for LGBTQI rights throughout history.
